Novel Spectrum Allocation Among Multiple Transmission Windows for Terahertz Communication Systems

This paper presents a novel spectrum allocation strategy for multiuser terahertz (THz) band communication systems when the to-be-allocated is composed of multiple transmission windows (TWs). explores benefits (i) allowing users to occupy sub-bands with unequal bandwidths and (ii) optimally avoiding using some spectra that exist at edges TWs where molecular absorption loss high. To maximize aggregated data rate, we formulate an optimization problem, primary focus on allocation. We then apply transformations modifications make problem computationally tractable, develop iterative algorithm based successive convex approximation determine optimal sub-band bandwidth unused TWs. Using numerical results, show significantly higher rate can be achieved by changing bandwidth, as compared equal bandwidth. also further gain obtained determining TWs, pre-defined
